For the last couple of years I have had a comments system allowing anybody to leave questions and suggestions on my site. This has been incredibly well received and lots of people have left some really great comments.
Unfortunately due to the amount of spam left on the site in the last couple of weeks, I will be reluctantly closing the ability to leave a comment. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to re-open this feature having introduced some spam fighting controls.

03/06/10 - Hello Working World!
I've been lucky enough to be offered a job at Framestore-CFC following an interview I had with them last week. I'll be going in as a runner in the commercials department and will undertake a load of training, making the most of their amazing facilities and experience.
Whilst running for Framestore, I will be actively seeking work as a CG Artist.
I'm looking forward to starting! :)
09/05/2010 - Goodbye Student Life
I have now finished university and am actively seeking work. I hope to become part of a talented and hardworking team, and grow as an artist while helping to create some really cool animations. I'm willing to relocate worldwide.
I am more than happy to go in as an entry level artist or runner, and work my way up! My main areas of interest are Animation, Lighting and Rigging.

09/05/2010 - FMX Festival 2010
Wow, what a week! Talks and presentations all week film and animation related, with guest speakers from ILM, Framestore, Scanline VFX, Pixar, Dreamworks, Blue Sky, Aardman, MPC, Dneg and a tonne of others. I got a chance to speak to a load of professionals about past and future projects, and show my reel to a load of company recruiters.
The Festival was held in the beautiful city of Stuttgart with a load of nightlife to keep us all entertained :) I'll try my best to attend FMX 2011!
20/03/2010 - A week at The Mill
I've just arrived home from a fantastic week completing some work experience at The Mill.
I had the chance to see how the company operates and how such inspiring work is produced from initial concepts right up to the finished product.
Everyone was really friendly, answered loads of questions and showed me what they were currently working on.
Whilst in London I also took the oppertunity to visit Lola Post, The House of Curves and Framestore CFC.
It's been awesome! Thanks to The Mill for having me all week :)
24/02/2010 - New Showreel
I've cut a new showreel to include work I've created in 2010. With this I'll be applying for various positions at some London Production Houses. Fingers crossed!
08/02/2010 - New Semester, New Modules!
This Semester I will be mainly focussing on my Final Year Project, but have one other module entitled 'Advanced Compositing in Film'.
In order to show my progress on the compositing module I have created a blog which can be found here.
This is the last semester at university and after this I'll be graduating, and in the real world looking for a job. Scary stuff!
02/02/2010 - Tour of Framestore CFC and The Mill
I travelled down to London and was lucky enough to visit The Mill in the morning and Framestore CFC in the afternoon.
I was shown around the buildings and given a glimpse of what it would be like to work for a production house.
The Mill have also kindly offered me a week work experience starting 15th March.
What a day! :)

I've spent some time updating the site and changing the way it looks. I've also added the ability to leave comments on certain pages. The site should load a bit quicker now too! :)

I've added a video demonstating the rig I have produced for a module at university. The model I used has kindly been given to me by Michael Knowland. I'm planning on creating an animation soon to test the rig properly.
14/11/2009 - Tutorial Added
After finally working out how to successfully use the velocity pass I thought I'd share the info with everyone and write up a tutorial. Using the velocity pass is a really quick way of adding motion blur to an animation.
10/11/2009 - Animation Added
I've added a short animation showing various render elements composited together. The aim of this animation was to learn how to composite the velocity pass into an animation, substantially reducing overall render time.

29/10/2009 - Final Year is Well Under Way
I'm now a month into my final year at Staffs Uni and making good progress with my modules.
My final year project is entitled 'An investigation into the best techniques for rigging a cinematic character with evaluation through animation'.
My plan is to rig a highly detailed character with full body and facial controls.
I will then produce a short animation showcasing the rig, and evaluate how efficient and well all the features work.
After evaluation I will focus on the rig, and implement any adaptations that will help the animation process.
By evaluating the rig through animation, I hope to produce a detailed, complex, efficient rig.

I've written a new tutorial on creating a basic GUI Rig in 3ds Max. It covers the very basics of how to create an efficient GUI Rig, and the overall processes involved.

12/06/2009 - Tutorials Reach Over 25,000 Hits!
The tutorials I have written have now reached over 25,000 unique visits! A figure far more than I ever expected so thanks to everyone that has left a positive comment about them. I plan on writing a couple more over the next few months when I have some spare time.
27/05/2009 - Work in 3D Artist Magazine!
Every month 3D Artist Magazine looks into related courses available at universities and colleges around the UK. I was asked by my lecturer if I could send him a couple of images of my work as the magazine had asked him about the courses available at Staffs Uni. Two of my images made it in - the living room and the camera. Great Stuff!

I've added a new page to the website with my 2009 reel. With this I will apply to various internships and work placements to try and get some work experience over the summer. Fingers crossed!

28/04/2009 - Web Site Created for Mike - 3D Character Artist
My friend Mike has just finished his 3rd year and asked me if I would create him a website to show his work.
He's an absolutely fantastic modeller and his site is well worth checking out.

Mike has kindly agreed to let me use some of his characters for my FYP, where I'll be rigging them and creating a few animations. Good Stuff!
15/04/2009 - Animation in Prodigy Music Video.
A friend of mine asked if I could help her out in a tight schedule with the music video 'Warriors Dance' by the Prodigy.
I was more than happy to accept, and produced a few dance cycles for the background cgi ciggie packets using Maya.
